603/1,825: Going Home in NYC

Today was very much one of those days where I pondered what it might be like to move back to the Pacific Northwest, with the reminders from food to weather, and the possibility of seeing the change and being present with the nieces and nephews on 36545.matheggem.com.

584/1,825: Oops, I did it again…

… Staying out late… really late, in NYC… makes this project a challenge sometimes. Sorry – but here’s a quick update from yesterday and expect a full report later today on 36545.matheggem.com.

469/1,825: What the coding, Mr!

Hey, it’s the hunt. Finding an apartment in NYC is like looking for a job in this economy. It friggin’ sucks… and I spent most of my day doing HTML… but you would know that if you’d read my Facebook status updates, which Michael has time to do, during the day, as he listens to Norwegian Heavy Metal… and that is all, plus some other things, at 36545.matheggem.com.

449/1,825: Burlesque is more than…

… at least that’s the potential that is so often disregarded when in the midst of spectatorship/performance. Working on a review (because old PR doesn’t work for the queer community anymore [did it ever?]) and doin’ life/work/life/work as I do at 36545.matheggem.com

448/1,825: Pickin Names n’ Throwin Punches

It’s getting to that point. I’m about to throw down on some folks and call it like it is, cause some things are just intolerable. Dare you to mess with me at 36545.matheggem.com

385/1,825: Batman’s R&D

OH! MY! GOD! It was one of the longest days ever… and perhaps a day that could only be had after a weekend of vacationing in the Florida Keys. From prepraring for the Huffington Post call, meeting about QAI, graduating a new stock of bookkeepers at The Bookkeeping Center, to attending a fundraising event for Emma Batman’s dance company, Newsprawl, the day was sooooo full of information. Oh, and I got reprimanded for not having my uniform at Tiger Schulmann’s today too. Somehow (suprise, suprise!), I didn’t have time to do laundry in the last 24 hours. WTF! It’s life at http://36545.matheggem.com

P.S. Check out NewSprawl R&D at http://www.newsprawl.com/ — with performances coming up next month:

Friday April 22nd & Saturday April 23rd at the Center for Performance Research ~ 361 Manhattan Ave, BK, NY — Gallery Showing at 7pm — Performance at 8pm — With choreography by Emma Batman and original music by Zac Mosely, AND guest choreographers Mathew Heggem and Olivia Wingerath.

355/1,825: The We Update

Hey, hey. It was a holiday, so what a moment to take stock, get organized, and make things happen. I took the extra step of taking an extra MMA class today and got hyper organized around the next QAI event, which is the first official music concert of the Queer Art Impact programming. (check us out at http://www.queerai.com). As always, staying organized at http://36545.matheggem.com

345/1,825: Getting’ ready for the big show

Listening to Beastie Boys and givin’ you a Photo Booth update. It was a fabulous photo-shoot with Mr. Hertzberg, which was a warm up for the upcoming show at The Tank (www.queerai.com). Other then that, it’s frickin’ awesome that I’ll be performing in the legacy of the Cockettes. Oh, and I learned some Quickbooks too… as always, the life is lived at http://36545.matheggem.com

326/1,825: Lip Gloss and Rumi-nation

I love how this effect, plus a little clean up in the personal hygiene department makes these videos look slightly pornographic. Anyways, life is good and dreams do come true for some small town American boys… That is, I’ll be performing in the light of the Cockettes with a Queer Art IMPACT Production. Okay, enjoy your week from that guy at http://36545.matheggem.com.
